Barnham Trojans U10 won a well thought game against Rustington Otters to reach the quarter finals of the cup for the second consecutive year with a dramatic penalty shot out.

The game started well for the visitors who passed the ball  and created some good openings in front of Trojans goal. However the Trojans weathered the storm and started to play some great football themselves and took the lead with some great passing between Walker and Horsman outside the box for horsman to take the ball into the box and calmly slot home.  With subs Storie and Sammes getting into the action the Trojans pressed for more goals and finished the half well.

The second half started much the same as the first with Otters on the attack and they got there just deserts 10 minutes in with a fantastic effort from a corner for a volley to fly into the top corner of the Trojans goal. The next 15 minutes turned into a great cup game with both teams trying to win the match,  but Miller was just fantastic today in the Trojans goal and kept pulling off some fine saves with some great defending from Woodcock, Walker and Terry. In the last 5 minutes the midfield trio of Reed, Sibbard and Horsman tried to open the Otters defence but again with some fine defending and goal keeping from Rustington the game was heading for extra time.

10 minutes of extra time was then played but these teams were not going to be separated and the game was going to penalties. Miller was again outstanding in the sticks and saved 4 from 5 penalty kicks with the Trojans converting 2 to take the win.
