The 2016 Barnham Trojans Tournament was a great success over the weekend of 18th and 19th June where 106 teams from U7 to U14 took part raising almost £8000. The feedback was incredible where many Managers are looking forward to attending again in 2017.
The proposed 2017 Tournament will again be in June with final details still to be decided but we will need a review of how we structure the build-up to the event and also over the entire weekend. Every year we are learning more and more to help make it a success but what we do full down on is support and help. Early in the New Year I will be looking to put together a small working group with a representative from every age group within the club, with roles issued to each of these age groups to support the event. This ideally needs to be a parent and not the Manager who is willing to help the club over the weekend and organise and take ownership of various tasks. These tasks will include over the weekend the BBQ, refreshments, car parking, control tent, First Aid and pitch monitoring. Leading up to the event I will need assistance on sponsorship, advertising in the programme, producing the programme, referees appointments and setting up the event.
This is the major fundraiser for the club and continue success of this event forms part of our fundraising for
the year to keep the membership / match fees low and to contribute toward improvements in the facilities.
